PS. I forgot to add another theory which is that the blanket assumption of ‘goodness’ surrounding organisations created to ‘do good’ creates plenty of room for shadows and blind spots, where the basics you mention can escape scrutiny. Conversely, the question of staff wellbeing and moral integrity would more likely be in the spotlight in an business organisation whose moral integrity and care for human beings is not assumed by default.
