PS. One more thought on anger and trepidation in response to situations like these: I think that the intensity of my internal response in these situations is my reaction to feeling the weight and power of a dominant narrative, and my sense of powerlessness in relation to it. These are narratives are often so insidiously clever, well crafted, have great seductive powers and take razor sharp focus to unpick (the concept of the ‘near enemy’ comes to mind..). And language— the tool we want to employ to unpick it, is shaped by dominant power, and so works in its favour, too..
